[How to ride local transit buses]

Be prepared with cash or an IC card before boarding the bus.
You can purchase special tickets (discounted set tickets, free tickets, etc.) at the bus ticket counter or in advance via app.

1. Before boarding a bus, check the destination on the display on the front and side of the vehicle. (It will display the bus’s destination, stops through which it will pass, and route number)

2. In general, board buses via the rear door and get off at the front.

[When paying your fare in cash]
Take a numbered ticket from the small box near the entrance when you get on the bus.
(This numbered ticket will be collected with your cash when you get off the bus, so keep it with you until you get off.)

[When paying your fare with an IC card]
When boarding the bus with an IC card, touch your card to the reader at the entrance until you hear a beep.

[When riding the bus with a special ticket]
If you are paying in cash, take a numbered ticket as you would with cash.
Check the number printed on the numbered ticket and the fare displayed at the front of the train before getting off the train.
If you need to break your money down into smaller denominatons, use the money changer at the front of the train.
1) Insert cash (bills of 1,000 yen only) into the cash slot.
2) Remove your coin change from the coin slot.

3. Press the “oriru” (“get off”) button when you see your bus stop where approaching (or when the stop is announced over the speakers).

4. Get off through the front door of the bus.
[When paying your fare in cash]
Put your money and numbered ticket into the fare box next to the driver’s seat.

[When paying your fare with an IC card]
Touch the IC card to the reader (on the left side of the cash slot) until you hear a beep.

[When riding the bus with a special ticket]
Place your numbered ticket in the fare box and present your special ticket to the driver.
