Himeji Castle Firelit Noh Theater

Himeji Castle Firelit Noh Theater is an event that began in 1971 to bring the castle to life, and introduce new charms to the site.
A major nighttime event, firelit (“takigi”) Noh performances have become a highlight the Himeji Castle Festival. The event presents a fusion of Himeji Castle, World Heritage Site and National Treasure, and Noh, a traditional Japanese cultural art form, registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, to present onlookers with a mysterious and beautiful scene that has become one of Himeji’s grand, representative events.
