Make a one-of-a-kind souvenir using traditional Himeji techniques

At a long-established Buddhist altar workshop located in Himeji Castle Town, you will receive an explanation about Himeji Buddhist altars from a skilled craftsman, and experience metal fittings and gold leaf stamping.
During the experience, you will also create a "golden nameplate."
This is the first time in Japan that two experiences can be enjoyed at the same time.
After the experience, take a break in a Japanese-style room with tea and sweets while looking at the miniature garden.
Enjoy a special time in Himeji.

【About us】
Established 240 Years Ago
Our shop began as a lacquerware shop for the lord of Himeji Castle. Our founder, Sobei, founded the business under the name "Nurishi-so" during the Edo period and was responsible for all of the lord's personal lacquerware.
While mechanization and streamlining are commonplace these days, our shop, now run by the eighth generation owner, preserves ancient techniques and traditions, cherishing the handcrafted skills of artisans, such as lacquering, carving, gold leafing, and maki-e.
