At Shoshazan Engyoji Temple, one of the three major sites for training of Tendai sect founded by Shoku-shonin in the mid-Heian period, with over 1,000 years of history, you’ll have the chance to enjoy special experience like shojin (vegetarian) cuisine.
Tour Itinerary
- Enjoy a Michelin 1-star shojin (vegetarian) meal at Juryo-in, a national important cultural property, based on the menu from the Engyoji Temple Gyojiki (ancient documents). The meal will be served on Shosha-nuri, a rare and renowned lacquerware unique to the temple.
- The chef will provide insights into the dishes.
- Each experience is for one group only, so the commentary can be tailored to your requests.
